Stone

Stone

Stone is a category of  hardscape which is any material not horticultural (softscape). These can include paved areas, driveways, retaining walls, walks, flower bed borders, and many other items.

Stone can be added before or after application of softscape. Adding hardscape alters the foundation of the landscape, the “brick and mortar”. Hardscape should be functional and complement your existing irrigation and drainage system. Hardscapes above all else should add a “finished” look to your landscape, and give the yard a feel of thoughtfulness. Beautiful landscape always have great features that draw the eye trough use of texture, color, and line. A well thought out landscape should accent existing structures and plants by using complementing themes and colors.
